Hold thy poison tongue
As the old time Chinese saying, "Eat the wrong things rather than speak wrong words". Sometimes when you say something too fast or say things that you didn't want to say, it cannot be undone. Never underestimate the damage that words can do. It is true that one cannot forgive you if you hurt too deep in words even compared to physical hurting itself.
So it is better to keep quiet. (Thats very true).
When too many things are said, some things can hurt another one unwittingly. Because one can never understand another in his view point and situation. The best is to say positive things, do that, make others happy, make yourself happy. I do not understand why some people would want to spread their unhappiness to others, so they themselves feel consoled that there are people of the same situation as they are?
Makes me remember a fellow in camp during the last ICT. He was 35 and was finalising his divorce during the in camp training. Hearing him talk is misery itself. Went around asking people whether they have relationship and "advised" people to be careful not to repeat his mistake. Oh come on, people dont really need this. Where are the encouragement when its needed? Afterall it is this same losing attitude that didn't save the relationship. Where was the vigour (required to save) when it was needed? Please not say, do it...
I got a similar experienced today during a discussion. The details i wont say. Hope this blog explain why i was so worked up. It isn't really very nice to have someone unwittingly causing damage to a relationship. Afterall, a casual remark can leads to much much more, you really dont know... Please dont advise, encourage...
